What lead Krakauer to misidentifying Martin Adams as ''Andy Harris''?

 Krakauer thought he was talking to Andy Harris when in fact he was talking to Martin Adams. It was cold, dark, and everyone was exhausted. Krakauer was not thinking straight at the time.
