Why do you think James was more close to Mr. Grasshopper and Ladybug?

In my opinion, James appreciated the Grasshopper's calmness and rational thought.... his ability to share advice without being overbearing. The Ladybug, like Grasshopper, is kind, caring, and a great role model.
