That's pretty difficult to give a proper summary in three sentences. Still, I'll try:    

Jane Eyre is an orphaned girl who lives with her Aunt in Gateshead. Jane is not loved but tolerated by her aunt and eventually sent to a charity school,  Lowood, for orphaned girls. There Jane discovers herself as well as independence she never had; she also has a relationship, with Rochester, that will define the rest of her life.
