What are the description. .colour metaphors . Sexual metaphors and symbolic things
The red room is a very symbolic space of first imprisonment for jane. the room has contrasting shades of red and white. red stands for passion ,anger, violence while white stands for control ,feminity, submission.the red room signifies that jane has started menstruating and she needs to be kept away so that she learn feminine ways of behaving.the red room is dark unlit she can come out of that room only when she learns perfect submission and stillness.the imprisonment of jane is foreshadowing of bertha mason's imprisonment at thornfield manor.
