Suspense is created by things Jane hears about like Mrs. Fairfax's description of Rochester, as is an eccentric man whose family has a history of extreme and violent behaviour and the seamstress being crazy. We learn bits and pieces about Rochester but much of him remains a mystery. In Chapter 15 we find out more about Rochester but this info. leaves Jane even more perplexed. Jane is governess but it is a challenge. There is also suspense behind a relationship between Jane and Rochester.
