Jane Eyre

What surprising revelation does Rochester make to Jane? What can you infer about Jane's feelings and beliefs from the statement "I Could not, in those daays, see God for his creature: of whom I made an Idol".

Rochester wants to marry Jane and she is completely infatuated with him. Even religion becomes less important for Jane because now Rochester has become her new idol, "see God for his creature: of whom I made an Idol". This tells us a lot about the latent longing that Jane has harbored in her soul for so long.
