Johnny Tremain

Why does Johnny think he's too good to be friends with the other apprentices in the shop?

Thank you

In the beginning of the novel, Johnny is prideful and a bit too full of himself. He acts condescendingly toward his fellow apprentices and believes he's too good to be their friend.
