The story is okay, it's old fashioned adventure. It reminds me of old escape fiction type stories like Richard Connell's short story "The Most Dangerous Game" or Jules Verne's other classic "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea." The way it is written is a bit dry for my tastes but I can see the attraction of it.
