Journey to the Center of the Earth
Why didn't Professor Lidenbrock give the journey a second try?
I've just finished the book, and it left me with a lot of questions, the main one being stated in the title of this question. Prof. Lidenbrock was, under all appearances, as stubborn as it gets. Why on earth (or under it :p) wouldn't he return and try to conclude the journey? The book finishes with him spending the rest of his life being a worldwide famous scientist, and that's it. It makes no sense (to me at least) that he doesn't try to assemble a new team, better equipped, and the go down again.
