Calpurnia had a dream in which she saw Caesar's statue spouting blood and smiling Romans bathing in it. She is afraid of what this means and convinces Caesar not to go. Decius says that the dream is misinterpreted. That it means that "Rome shall suck reviving blood, and that great men shall press for tinctures, stains, relics, and cognizance." (II.ii) He also tells Caesar that the Senate is going to crown Caesar and that if he tells them that Caesar is afraid, that they may change their minds.
