Does Shakespeare succeed in creating a suspenseful mood in Act 2 of Julius Caesar? Explain..?
Shakespeare succeeds in creating a suspenseful atmosphere from the start. Brutus is convinced and supportive of the plot against Casear but cannot sleep, plans are made for murder, Portia reads the questions and disquiet in her husband's eyes. Calpurnia forsees her husband's murder in her dreams, Caesar scoffs outwardly, omens portend a disastrous end, and Caesar concedes......only to be convinced misinterpretation has occurred. Letters are passed and intercepted..... the soothsayer declares he'll attempt to warn Caesar once more..... it doesn't get more suspenseful than this!
