Where does Alan find a place for David to get well? Why is this risky? How long is David recuperating? From chapters 25-30

Alan finds a home in which David can recuperate in Balquidder. The home belongs to a family named Maclaren, who were know be sympathizers with the Stewarts. Alan is in danger because some of the townspeople belong to an opposing clan. He stays with David regardless. David spends almost a month recuperating.
