Why does David choose the hut specifically to live in? Describe the hut. From chapters 13-16

The hut is in really bad shape,

the turf roof of it had fallen entirely in; so that the hut was of no use to me, and gave me less shelter than my rocks.

Still shell-fish grew around it and at least it had walls around it. David liked to feel somewhat secure in this strange place.
