King Lear
How has Lear's decision to divide his kingdom affect his reationship with his daughters, his mental health, or the kingdom?
Thank you !
Thank you !
Because Cordelia refuses to play her father's flattery game, she is basically written out of the will (no land to her) and the two older sisters begin to treat Lear and his courtiers as second-class citizens. Anyone with any gripe against the sisters (Goneril and Reagan) or their husbands begin to rebel. The kingdom is in complete chaos, Lear finds himself mad out on a cold, dark heath, and ultimately Lear's most beloved daughter dies.
