Is Lear's demand of an expression of love from each daughter likely to bring honest answers?

The very nature of demanding an expression of love is going to bring false answers. Lear is a king so it stands to reason that his children will want something from him. Lear's daughter Cordelia , however, refuses to insincerely flatter her father with false estimations of love and is disinherited.
