Did Kurt write a short story called The Paradise Hat ?

I am reading a book about Harry Nilsson and is said he was going to do the music to a movie version of this sory by Kurt Vonnegut in the mid 70's.

No, I don't believe he wrote that.

An article in the January 8, 1970, issue of the Los Angeles Times reported that Harry Nilsson's Nilsson House Productions had purchased the film rights to an original Vonnegut short story called "The Paradise Hat." I am not aware of the story ever being published.
