Le Morte d'Arthur

This question calls for an opinion, and yours is likely different than my own. At the time of its publication, Arthur's legend was embraced by the Briish people..... he was a hero, larger than life, and believed to have been a true hero in the history of their country. His legend would have inspired pride and set an example. Much of the story would have been accepted as fact.
