Why did stuart walker humiliate uncle bud in the presence of suzellaChapter

Are you talking about the section where Stuart asks Suzella if Uncle Bud is her father, and questions the color of his skin....... how he could have had such a pretty daughter? The humiiation is meant just as much for her as it is for Uncle Bud. The boys want to put him in his place, deinigrate his relationship with Suzella's mother, and allow Suzella in no uncertain terms to know that she's not good enough for them. (Page 356 and 357)
