why was cassie allowed to go to strawberry with mrs.lee annie and to Louisiana with the adults?

Cassie is fascinated with the law. The law seems to her one of the only hopes that blacks may have a chance in the future. Cassie wants to go with Mrs. Lee Annie when she registers to vote because she had learned the constitution right along Mrs. Annie. Cassie also wants to see the world which includes the Louisiana trip to bring Stacey home.
