"I cannot sit by idly in Atlanta and not be concerned about what happens in Birmingham." Is this a validate statement ? What evidence supports this reasoning ?

This is a very valid statement. The Civil Rights Movement did not take place in a vacume. Racism was a national sickness and blacks were connected to any tragedy tand strife that occurs in the United States.
