The main answer is that King insisted that the cause can no longer "wait". Historically Black Americans have waite too long for nothing to happen: "'Wait' has almost always meant 'Never.'" King adds that African Americans had waited for the God-given and constitutional rights long enough, "justice too long delayed is justice denied."
