Life is beautiful is set during WWII in the country of Italy. During this time, Jews were persecuted without mercy, interred in camps, and made victims of the final solution.... euthanasia. Mussolini's facist regime ruled Italy for twenty years, during which a majority of the Jews i Italy were shipped to Germany or Poland for extermination. Few survived.
