(Chapter 94) After more than seven months, Pi reaches land. Richard Parker disappears into the forest immediately.

They have lived a sort of "coexistence," yet they do not have any great love for one another. They both will now return to their "normal" existence. Richard Parker goes back to his feral environment; Pi will now be safe from the sea and from Richard Parker if her suddenly forgot how they had coexisted.
