Please explain what Pi means when he says "nature is preoccupied with balance"?

Chapters 58-62
Pi makes this statement in regard to one of our body's most basic functions, the need to urinate after drinking. Nature has an automatic balance..... in this case, it's the fluids that clean out our system. There's no stopping the need to urinate, anymore that there's a way to stop our need for water.
