Little Brother

chapter 9

Marcus notes that he’s done all this to his dad when referring to the chaos that has happened in SF. He doesn’t seem to care about the trouble he’s caused the city and its citizens, just that which he’s caused his father. What do we learn about Marcus and the development of his character through this?

Marcus is learning that rebellion, even for a good cause, exacts a price from innocent people. Marcus is learning about balance: he is learning when actions, that may help his cause, may not be worth doing.
