Throughout this chapter there are numerous instances of Marcus feeling “familiar” and “comfortable” – identify at least THREE and then summarize why these feelings are so important to him.
In Chapter 5, the person hugging Marcus is Vanessa. Jolu is there too. Darryl is the only one who is not with them. They cry because they don't expect they will ever see him again. They sit down at a restaurant to talk and eat. They figure they had been held five or six days. The captors were harder on Marcus than the other two. Marcus believes this was because his captors were being vindictive because he had not been cooperative. All of this makes Marcus closer to his friends.
