Lord of the Flies
(84-86) How do Jack and Piggy differ in their treatment of the littluns? What does the little boy tell the others about the beast? How do the boys respond to him?

Jack considers the Littluns expendable and a nuisance. Piggy tries to help the littluns. He gets names and tries to listen to them. The littlun says he hears the beast at night. The bigger boys laugh but the other "littluns " are scared.
