Chapter 6: What does Jack ask Ralph in front of the other boys? How does this question affect the balance of power on the island?

Jack asks Ralph if he is scared to go and hunt for the beast. Ralph knows they are all scared, including Jack. Jack however puts on a tough show, as he always likes to do, which makes Ralph look weak.
