Consider maslow's hierarchy of Needs, what needs are not being met for Percival? How does this affect him?

 Percival gets none of Maslow's needs. I believe Maslow's needs go something like: physiological, safety, love, and esteem, self-knowledge. Percival gets some psychological reinforcement from other "littluns" but only on a very superficial toddler level. Percival, and the other littluns, are missing everything else. They exist in their own private intensely emotional world with no guidance.
