Describe the killing of the sow (female pig) from chapter 8. How did this event prove the boys on the island have changed over time?

This is a shocking scene. I still don't like reading it. Golding uses rape imagery to describe the kill. If you examine it again, you will see. The boys are not content to simply kill the sow. They abuse it with brutal sexual undertones before the savagely slaughter it. The boys have transcended mere brutality to sexual control and power. The boys have become so twisted that what little they know about sexuality is manifested through the hunt and in this disturbing scene.
