How do Ralph and Piggy view the fire? How does Jack?

Ralph and Piggy view the fire as a necessity to get rescued. Ralph pleads with the boys that the signal fire means the difference between living and dying. Jack views the fire as a secondary distraction. He would rather hunt and kill pigs than worry about something responsible like keeping the fire going. 

Jack's view of the fire is in strong contrast to that of Ralph and Piggy.  Jack wants the fire to only serve as a place to cook the pig which they have killed during the day while Ralph and Piggy are trying to rebuild the fire for a signal fire.  The boys seem much more attracted to the idea of the hunt than a belief in actually being rescued.
