hOW DOES GROUPTHING OCCUR BETWEEN jACK AND HIS GROUP AND RALPH AND HIS GROUP

THEIR ARE TWO GROUPS A FORMAL GROUP AND AN INFORMAL GROUP. i HAVE TO STATE HOW GROUPTHINK OCCURS IN BOTH

Jack's group was basically formed before the novel takes place. This is the choir and they are already somewhat regimented. They already look to Jack as the leader and will do what he says. The group Ralph runs is made up of the leftovers - the littl uns and some of the other students not in the choir. They are informal in the sense that they were never really together; they do not understand the rules of order and so have little of the "groupthink" mentality. They are more likely to sway the way the wind blows - whoever seems to be the strongest will rule.
