How does William Golding makes Jack behave at the beginning of Chapter 3, "Huts on the Beach," in order to portray the boy as a lower type of human being.

In the beginning of chapter three, it describes Jack.

Jack is described like an animal stalking his prey rather than a sophisticated British military school boy. Note the animal-like imagery and movements:

He lowered his chin and stared at the traces as though he would force them to speak to him. Then dog-like, uncomfortably on all fours yet unheeding his discomfort, he stole forward five yards and stopped. ch 3
