How has Ralph's feelings about the island changed over the course of the novel?

Initially Ralph felt that this was a "good island". As the story unfolds the boys turn it into a place full of menace and danger. The island, once Eden-like, becomes a hell both literally and figuratively. It, of course, isn't the island itself rather than what Jack and most boys have made it into. At one point Ralph laments that things have gotten so bad that it is as if this "isn't a good" island anymore.
