Castle Rock as a Symbol
Castle Rock is a small rocky outcrop which is connected to the 'pointed end' of the main island. When Jack leaves the group and forms his own 'group' he chooses Castle Rock as his headquarters.
Castle Rock symbolizes hell on earth, where jack and his group can get away from Ralph’s authority. The island stands for a world with no rules, no adult figures and a serious lack of authority. On this island, there are good, smart and intelligent people, such as Ralph, Piggy, and Simon, and then there are corrupted people such as Jack and his group of hunters. Castle Rock serves as the villains, or Jack's and his hunter’s hideout where they have the ability to do what ever they want.
Castle Rock gives Jack and his choir a place to differ from the more civilized people. Castle rock serves a 1. heavily fortified residence 2. a safe, secure place or refuge. The fortified residence, that provided a firm support and refuge for Jack and his group. Castle Rock represents a villains' hideout, where they can get away from the more civilized society, and live without rules. It represent the place and gathering of evil.
Castle Rock provided a place for Jack and his choir to get away from Ralph's rule and Piggy's attempts to make a sound society on the island. It combines the fortified residence of a castle, It is the savage hideout of Jack along with the other evils.
