Linking LotF to other things.

Can anyone give me an example of what i would link LotF to? Any song/show/movie/real life event. I was thinking linking it to the movie outcast and the show survivor and maybe since it was written around WW2 i would link it to nazi germany becasue there is evil in all of us and so on. So if you can give me more ideas or anything that would be great! Thanks.
