Certainly consider each of the main characters.

Ralph- responsible leadership

Jack-Fascism / violent control

Piggy-Knowledge

Simon-Wisdom/ Christ-figure

I find Simon the most interesting. Golding sets hem up as a misunderstood outcast. Increasingly he shows the traits of a Christ figure all the way to his sacrifice. Even while the boys are stabbing him, Simon attempts to save them from themselves. Simon represents the greater ideas of salvation which the boys squander at every opportunity.
