Lord of the Flies
Ralph is intent on building shetlers while Jack is obsessed with killing a pig. If you were leader, which project would you concentrate on? Why?
what should jack do?
what should jack do?
Jack is responding to his wild side, his uncivilized side and thus he wants to become more savage. The killing of the pig turns out not to be for any kind of sustenance, so the more logical choice would be to build shelters and provide a modicum of civilization for the boys. Ralph and Jack are polar opposites, so we know that they will never be "on the same page." Thus, even though Jack should concentrate on what will make them the most comfortable, he will respond to the animalistic actions of his ancestors.
