What are some of the obstacles the boys face on the island in the lord of the flies

There are many obstacles the boys face. There are the physical obstacles of surviving on an island. Fresh water, food sources, and shelter are immediate ones. The interpersonal relationships are more of a concern. The boys basically self-destruct through power struggle and man's "essential illness". They naturally go to the darker side of human nature.
