"He (Jack) tried to convey the compulsion to track down and kill that was swallowing him up."

This shows that it was not hunting that Jack wanted but the primal urge to kill.

"(Jack) began to dance and his laughter became a bloodthirsty snarling..."

At times Jack turns so savage that he does not even speak. Instead he growls and incoherent snarl.

"Roger advanced upon them as one wielding a nameless authority."

The darkness of indiscriminate violence with no repercussions.

and on what pages did you find these?

The pages probablty won't help you because different edditions have different pages. I can give you the chapters though,

"He (Jack) tried to convey the compulsion to track down and kill that was swallowing him up." Chapter 3

This shows that it was not hunting that Jack wanted but the primal urge to kill.

"(Jack) began to dance and his laughter became a bloodthirsty snarling..."

Chapter 4

At times Jack turns so savage that he does not even speak. Instead he growls and incoherent snarl.

"Roger advanced upon them as one wielding a nameless authority."

The darkness of indiscriminate violence with no repercussions. Chapter 11

true than you sooo much you sved me!

"He [Henry] became absorbed beyond mere happiness as he felt himself exercising control over living things. He talked to them, urging them, ordering them" (page 66)

"His [Jack] mind was crowded with memories; memories of the knowledge that had come to them when they closed in on the struggling pig, knowledge that they had outwitted a living thing, imposed their will upon it, and taken away its life like a long satisfying drink." (page 76)
