What is the author's tone for this chapter?
There is an overwhelming tone of the threat of violence as well as a surreal quality to it all. Jack has now set himself up as a king/demi-God and Simon is speaking to a Pig's head personified as the Devil. In both cases there is a threat of violence combined with a dream-like absurdity.
