Jack is a kind of "warrior" who wants to return to a more savage, elementary way of life. Piggy is the voice of reason; Roger is Jack's follower, but he identifies with Jack's savagery since he is cruel and sadistic ; Ralph is one who is chosen as a leader, but he needs someone to help him know what to do; Simon is the more intuitive type of person, very in touch with nature and easily transfixed by visions and thoughts.
