Why do you think simon is so eager to go across the island to tell piggy and th littluns what they're doing?

Simon has no problem turning around and going back to let everyone know that Jack and Ralph are going up the mountain. He doesn't want to go...... and I don't think he would have been rattled by being considered a coward.
