No , from the state of Jack's personality it is apparent that Jack will not yield until he has power. Ralph is in his way. Simon is who he is. He is a Christ-figure who prefers to be solitary. Really, the boys stress him out. The next chapter suggests the boys are going to go primitive, most likely Jack and his hunters.
