after macduff finds out about the death of his family malcolm tells him to dispute it like a man what does macduff say in respnse how is this a different view of manliness than we have seen so far in the play

Malcolm figures that Macduff just needs to bust some heads to feel better about the death of everybody he was ever close to. Macduff replies that "I shall do so;

But I must also feel it as a man..." Macduff is showing his sensitive man side which really wasn't a sought after quality back then. Still Shakespeare was all about breaking social conventions. Not to worry though, Macduff will get his revenge man time later with Macbeth.
