In Scene 1, why is the Witches' chant given in such detail?

The detail of the Witches' chant allows the audience to understand exactly how evil they are. Because of this, the audience sees that Macbeth's ambition totally overlies his good sense. At this point in the play, he has no capablity to make rational decisions, as he cannot move past what he wants.
