Macduff would think that Macbeth is guilty of killing Duncan. He knows the banquet would be an opportunity for Macbeth to solidify his kingship with the other thanes. Macduff decides to go to the only country that can sort the mess out: England. Shakespeare frequently used England to sort out hid tragedies. Elizabeth the first liked it that way!
