Macbeth is all wishy washy before Duncan's death. He flip flops between wanting to be King, letting chance make him King and just hanging out enjoying being Mr. popular around the castle. L. Macbeth questions his manhood and then Macbeth gets all sombre and morose. He starts to imagine bloody daggers and has the beginnings of a paranoia complex. When he finally stabs Duncan about three hundred times, he changes into the murdering paranoid psychopath that we know and love.
