Macbeth
What do other characters say about Macbeth?
?
?
Again this all depends on where in the play you mean. In the beginning, he is a popular guy. The king loves him and others honour him. By the end he is shunned. People run away from him. They are not loyal.
The first time we see how other people view Macbeth is in act 1 scene 2, the general feeling in that scene is that Macbeth is a noble warrior. The captain calls him “Brave Macbeth” and describes how he deserves that name. The word “Brave” means someone has lots of courage and either has no fears or is willing to face them. Connotations of “Brave” are; fearless, heroic and lionhearted. In the same scene Duncan refers to Macbeth as “Valiant cousin” the word valiant means similar things to the word brave but it also suggests that he is fighting for good. At the very end of this scene Duncan refers to Macbeth as “Noble” and this reinforces what has previously been said.
