The Captain tells Duncan that each new challenge found Macbeth possessing even more courage than the last. He fought harder..... like a cannon loaded with more amunition than it was capable of charging. Noting the amount of blood, the Captain says that possibly Macbeth was looking for lasting fame, that the battle itself should become as infamous as the hill of Golgatha where Christ was nailed to the cross.
